Wellness Programs

Whether you're starting out with a new puppy or kitten, or working to maintain the health and vitality of an older pet, we will design a vaccine schedule and formulate a wellness program to meet your pet's individual needs. We will also advise you concerning the prevention, detection and treatment of parasites, including the many options now offered for heartworm, flea and tick prevention.


Puppies:

  1. Visit #1 (6wks) Deworm, Distemper, Bordetella, Interceptor
  2. Visit #2 (10 wks) Deworm, Distemper, Exam, Interceptor, Appt for spay or neuter
  3. Visit #3 (16 wks) Fecal/deworming, Rabies (1 yr) DHLPP, Exam, Heartworm prevention


Adult Dog Wellness Program- Beginning at 2 Years of Age:

  1. Physical Exam- Yearly until a senior pet; then every 6 months
  2. Intestinal Parasite Screen- Yearly if on Heartworm prevention; every 3 months if not on Heartworm prevention.
  3. Heartworm Check- Yearly, Year round monthly Heartworm prevention (Interceptor or Heartgard). Flea and Tick control (Frontline) is recommended every 21 days to aid in preventing flea and tick infestation as well as Lyme disease prevention.
  4. Vaccinations: Rabies 3 yrs, Vaccinal titer yearly until results indicate a booster for Distemper, Parvovirus,  Bordetella, Leptospirosis, and Lyme vaccine based on exposure and need.
  5. Urinalysis and ERD (Early Renal Detection)-Every year until a senior pet; then every 6 months
  6. Bloodwork- Every 2 years until senior pet; then yearly. Major profile-complete blood profile (2 years starting at 4 years of age) Super profile-complete profile plus thyroid (senior pets)
  7. Radiographs (x-rays)- Baseline chest and abdomen every 2 years starting at 4 years of age.
  8. Dental cleaning- Every 2 years beginning at 4 years of age and yearly for senior pets. 
  9. ECG and Blood Pressure-Every year beginning at 4 years and every 6 months when a senior pet.
  10. Senior pet is 10 years olf if less than 50 lbs and 8 years old if greater than 50 lbs.


Kittens:

  1. Visit #1 (6wks) FeLV/FIV test, Deworm, Exam, FVRCP, FeLV Revolution
  2. Visit #2 (10 wks) Deworm, FVRCP, FeLV, Exam, Revolution (for earmites and fleas) Appt for spay or neuter
  3. Visit #3 (16 wks) Deworm, FVRCP, FeLV, Rabies, Heartworm Prevention, Revolution, Annual Wellness discussion, set up fecal reminder for 6 months of age.


Adult Cat Wellness Program- Beginning at 2 Years of Age:

  1. Physical Exam- Yearly until a senior pet; then every 6 months.
  2. Intestinal Parasite Screen- Yearly if on Revolution every month; Every 3 months if not on Revolution. 
  3. Revolution- Given monthly (all year round) for prevention of Heartworms, Intestinal Parasites, Earmites, and Fleas.
  4. Vaccinations- Rabies every 3 years, FVRCP every 3 years for both inside and outside cats, FeLV (Leukemia Virus) every year for outside cats.
  5. Urinalysis and ERD (Early Renal Detection)- Every year until a senior pet; then every 6 months.
  6. Bloodwork- Every 2 years until senior pet; then yearly. Major profile-complete blood profile (2 years until senior) Super profile- compete profile plus thyroid (senior pets)
  7. Radiographs (x-rays)-Baseline chest and abdomen every 2 years starting at 4 years of age.
  8. Dental Cleaning- Every 2 years beginning at 4 years of age and yearly for senioe pets.
